The Find: Twenty years ago these were what you wore when you wanted the whole room to know you'd arrived, and the market has circled all the way back to them. A rimless brown gradient shield framed by a frosted mocha edge, with gold serpents twisting through crystal at each temple. The snake was the signature of the house from the beginning, and this is it rendered at full volume, circa mid-2000s, made in Italy. The original black patent Cavalli case still has its zebra-print lining, the kind of detail collectors pay extra to have intact. Shield frames are moving fast right now. The embellished archive ones are moving faster.
