The Find: This is the era collectors mean when they say early Cavalli. Rimless champagne lenses that sit on the face like almost nothing, a thin black line tracing the brow, and then the reason you're here: two engraved gold serpents twisted into each other at every temple, heads raised, tails looping into openwork before the arm tapers down to a cream pearl tip. Early 2000s, made in Italy, from the years when the house was putting real jewelry work into eyewear. The barely-tinted rimless lens is exactly what's on faces everywhere again right now, except this is the original, with the original zebra-lined Cavalli case to prove it.
