Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche by Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2002 Lace-Up Cotton Blazer

Exceptional Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche blazer designed by Tom Ford for the Spring/Summer 2002 collection. Crafted in ivory/ecru cotton and finished with one of the season’s defining details: distressed animal-print fabric threaded through black metal eyelets in corset-style crisscross lacing.

The lacing traces the shoulders, front seams and center back, creating an almost deconstructed corseted effect against the sharply tailored blazer silhouette. Finished with a notched lapel, chest welt pocket, hip pockets and minimalist hook-and-eye style front closure.

The same raw-edged animal-print lace-up treatment appeared extensively throughout Ford’s SS02 runway, including on skirts and other pieces from the collection. A documented SS02 skirt uses virtually the same combination of khaki cotton, animal-print raw-edge ribbon and corset-style lacing.
