a lace shawl from the barbara turner collection, believed to have been made for costume use. the body is lace throughout, embellished all over, with a beaded rope trim at the hem and black-and-white tassels finishing the bottom edge. a high collar is held upright by metal stays, closing at a single hook and eye.
