an antique bib-front dress shirt by paris dress, the pullover formal style a man once wore with a detachable collar and studs. it has a stand collar with holes front and back for those studs, a shaped bib bosom in a firmer weave, a short keyhole placket that ties at the throat, long sleeves with cuffs, side gussets, and a long curved tail. shirts like this were everyday formalwear in the early twentieth century, built to be topped with a stiff collar and cuffs that buttoned on separately, which is why the neckband reads so clean and bare. the red "paris dress registered" label and the inked laundry marks are the small traces of that working life. collarless and softened by time, it wears now as an easy oversized shirt or tunic.
